In film and television production, a Best Boy is a key member of either the lighting (Best Boy Electric) or grip (Best Boy Grip) department. They are the assistant to the Gaffer (head of the lighting department) or Key Grip (head of the grip department), respectively, and manage the day-to-day operations and logistics of their team.
