Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation and Service:
    Caterers prepare and serve meals, typically breakfast and lunch, and sometimes dinner, depending on the production schedule. 
  • Dietary Accommodations:
    They need to be able to accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences, such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergies. 
  • Snack and Beverage Provision:
    In addition to meals, caterers often manage craft services, which provides a continuous supply of snacks, drinks, and other refreshments to keep the crew energized throughout the day. 
  • Food Safety:
    Maintaining proper food safety and hygiene standards is crucial, including safe food handling and storage practices. 
  • Menu Planning and Ordering:
    Caterers may be involved in creating menus, ordering supplies, and managing budgets for food services. 
  • Equipment and Setup:
    They are responsible for setting up and managing food service areas, including tables, chairs, linens, and serving utensils. 
  • Clean-up:
    At the end of meal periods, caterers are responsible for cleaning up the dining area, removing trash, and ensuring everything is returned to its proper place.
